April is one of the best times to head to Disneyland. This is the time that the flowers and trees around the parks are in full bloom and the weather isn’t too hot yet. The crowds in the parks can be a pain since it's the heavy spring break travel season, but don’t let that deter you from going to Disneyland. Along with the great weather, there’s plenty going on in the parks including the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, Easter, and Dapper Day.

Make those park reservations and pack your bags with these April clothing essentials.

Weather at Disneyland in April

The weather in Anaheim in April is what most would call “perfect theme park weather.” According to accuweather.com, there are just a few days of rain, pending there are no more of those pesky atmospheric rivers coming towards California. The rest of the days are filled with a mix of sunshine and partly cloudy weather. Lows during the month range from the mid-40s to the upper 50s, while highs can go from the upper 50s to the low 80s.

What to wear to Disney in April

Even though April starts the warming trend in Anaheim, the mornings and evenings are still chilly, so you’re going to want to pack layers, especially for the beginning of the month. As the days get longer later in the month, consider wearing shorts instead of jeans or leggings, mainly because the parks warm up quickly and the chilly mornings give way to very warm afternoons.

Vintage Disneyland Est 1955 California Comfort Shirt

We love the old-school vibe of this T-shirt with Mickey Mouse and his pals standing in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The vintage Disneyland logo is cute with its rainbow of colors, too. The shirt comes in unisex sizing, but we suggest sizing up for a cool look, whether you tuck the shirt into shorts or wear it tied like a crop top. The design can be printed on a variety of different colored shirts too, so you could get matching t-shirts for your friends and family to wear with you.

Our Universe Disney Mickey Mouse Denim Jacket

Unless you’re like Elsa and the cold doesn’t bother you anyway, you’re going to want a jacket for the chilly mornings and evenings at Disneyland. Pair your vintage Disneyland shirt with this cool denim jacket with Mickey Mouse all over it. The jacket has a removable back hood, which is nice to help change up the look of the piece. Because the jacket is in unisex sizing, women may want to size down, and men should order their normal size.

Bottoms

BALEAF Women's 8"/ 7"/ 5" High Waist Biker Shorts

Bike shorts are super comfortable to wear around Disneyland during the day. While you might be chilly first thing in the morning, your future self will thank you for wearing shorts when the afternoon temperatures are in the 80s. These bike shorts come in 5, 7, or 8-inch lengths, and a variety of colors. There is one pocket on either leg and a high waistband that helps with tummy control and keeping the shorts up while walking around the park.

Socks

EVEI Animation Character Cartoon Series Collection Women's Original Socks

These high socks are a fun way to keep the classic character look going. The five-pair pack comes with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, and Winnie the Pooh on the ankle of the socks. If you like a shorter sock, there is a pack with small character heads on the side of the socks.

Shoes

Cariuma Off-White Canvas Shoes

If you’re looking for a cool, but sustainable pair of shoes to wear to Disneyland, the Cariuma canvas shoes are it. The affordable shoes are simple in design and come in a variety of colors from off-white and black to green and yellow so you can pick the one that fits your style best. The natural rubber sole of the shoe is also great for adding a bit of traction to the bottom of the shoe, which is great if you’re going to be chasing your kids around the recently reopened Mickey’s Toontown area of Disneyland Park.

Backpack

Dagne Dover Dakota Neoprene Backpack

Because of the still unpredictable weather, you will want to bring a backpack with you into the parks. We love this Dagne Dover option because it comes in three sizes and six different colors. The 100 percent vegan bag is made to be water resistant, so you don’t have to worry about your belongings getting wet on Pirates of the Caribbean or Grizzly River Run. The large main pocket is great for storing sweatshirts and jackets, while the smaller front pocket is ideal for car keys or sunglasses. There are also two side pockets which are nice to use for water bottles or phones.

Accessories

An outfit isn’t complete without a few accessories. In April, look for some bigger pieces, whether it be a statement earring or a fun necklace to go along with mouse ear headbands.

We love these Mickey Mouse earrings because of how sparkly the different colors are. The fun earrings come with either clear crystals or an all-over gold finish. The best part about this set is they are on sale right now for $20.

Mickey Mouse Ear Headband for Adults

$34.99

Part of the fun of going to Disneyland is showing off your Disney style. With this plain black leather Mickey Mouse ear headband you can do just that in a simple, classic way. For those who are celebrating something at the parks, pick these up at one of the Disney hotels, the Downtown Disney District or at either park, then take the ears to any of the shops that do custom ornament personalization. Just know that it may be a few hours before your ears are ready to be picked up, so try to take them early in the day if you want your ears to be hand decorated.
